  1. Morning all. We have now gone 6 whole days without rain but it was so wet that there are still a lot of places where the ground still squishes when you walk on it.

    1. Actually I was wrong. I wrote that before I could see outside because otherwise I would have seen that the deck was wet. But we only got about .2 of an inch overnight so not too bad. And way luckier than Indianapolis -- they got 1-1/4 inch and broke a 150-year-old record for most rain in July.

  2. Morning Andi,

Still very hot down here and I think it's going to be just as bad next month. Every year it just gets hotter.

I'm looking forward to squishing around here. :)

    Take care.

    Whit

    1. Glad to see you were able to access the site again. Did you figure out what the problem was?

  3. Nope not yet. I did the deleting the cookies, but I still come up with no site exist. However, where you have the blog archive and the picture and name up top, it's still there. I've gone to the blog archive and click on the most recent one and it brings me to you. Hooray!

    1. That is really weird or in other words, welcome back to the internet. :)

  4. Whit, how strange. But of course, I have to use Opera to post initially on the blog. Chrome doesn't let me. Even though I use my google account.

Or as Andi says, welcome to the internet.

    1. Hi Dina,

I guess it is strange, but I've gotten this at a few other sites. Still trying to figure it out.

I had forgotten how seamless and easy a computer and the internet were, Ya Sure. :)

  5. Andi -- looks so beautiful there. Love the different phases of your woods from leafless to lush and deep green. It really is a wonderful way to mark the passing of time.

Whit -- so happy to see you back around. Do you have an email address or phone number?

    1. Candis you can email me at newton6858@ att.net. That's the one I got when I got back on the internet. I'll probably get another one soon because it will be easier to use.

It's great to see you again.

  6. Yay, Whit found me on Twitter! We got to the beach on Sunday, and that was wonderful. In yet another episode of "reality is stranger than fiction," the sand was hotter on our feet than the parking lot pavement.

Got to see Dad yesterday. He's doing as well as an Alzheimer's patient can be, I guess. He's constructed a narrative about working at the assisted living place he used to be at, then was out walking with two other guys, got cracked in the head, and woke up at this place. (He had an infection in a leg muscle that led to septicaemia, and ended up not being taken care of.) Anyway, I'm finding the idea of isolating myself for years, even at a lake house, far less attractive than I did a week ago. I like to think I'd have the internet and my writing to keep me sharp, but I think there has to be some interaction. *sigh*

Anyway, it's still good to see him. He still knows who we are (except he was a little unsure of Mason). We'll see him a couple more times this week.

    1. Jim's mom also had a very detailed (and really bizarre) story about her going to assisted living. No matter what she forgot, she always remembered this invented story. I wonder if that is typical of people with Alzheimer's.

  7. Morning Andi,

I started up another blog yesterday. Nothing but bare bone to it now. I wish I remembered how to link, but forgot. It's called FM again.

Hope the weather will treat you nice today.

    Take care.
