  1. And that's a small crowd -- we often 8-12. Good thing we have 2 feeders -- but I think we're going to have to get a loan just to pay for all the sugar we're going through. ;)

  2. My next door neighbor used to have hummingbirds everywhere around her patio. Well I went out and got a feeder, but I could never get the right ratio of sugar and water. So I would sit there all by my lonesome waiting for the hummingbirds that never came.

The old biddy would never tell me the ratio she mixed together. So I'd sit there all lonesome wishing that a stray humming would just come by. Ohhhh such sad times. I think I'll go cry now. Bah ha ha ha! :P)

That's a story that'll help you get through the day isn't it. :-)

BTW I hope everybody's day is filled with hummingbirds.

    Whit

    1. We use a 5-1 ratio of water to sugar. If we make it sweeter, say a 4-1 mix, we not only attract hummers but bees and wasps too. I love watching them and hearing their chatter and hum. We'll only have them around for a few more weeks before they begin their migration to Central America.

  3. In the sub-division our houses were pretty close to one another, so our patios were weren't that far apart. I would sit out in the patio and the hummingbirds would come over to check me out.

I'm like you in that I love to watch them, especially when they were hovering right in front of my face.
