  1. The hummingbird feeders are down now and the hummies have all left for winter vacation. But just so we don't feel abandoned, the goldfinches -- and the other birds they can squeeze in among the yellow mob -- are hitting up the sunflower seed feeder so much that I sometimes have to fill it twice in a day.

  2. I love hummingbirds, Andi. Though these are quite pretty too.

When I was in Central America, we were taken to a women's prison (it was a group of women in the judiciary) and outside was a hummingbird tree. One of the most beautiful things ever!

  3. We still have them here. They'll probably be buzzing off soon, though.

This has been an odd summer. Not beastly-hot, but hot enough. And like the beastly versions, it's hanging on into September. Still in that "could rain any time" afternoon pattern.

This is vacation. Wifi available at one spot in the condo (table by the window), cell in a few other places. Just me and Mason most of the time. We signed out a paddleboat and I took him around the lake today. There's a little beach area we're going to hit tomorrow. It has a slide that goes into the lake, and he wants it, precious, yes he does.

  5. Love that picture, Andi. What is it?

And since Chrome will only let me post anonymously,

    1. It's Turkey Tail Fungus (I even know the scientific name because I looked it up for Larry on twitter -- Trametes versicolor). It's very common in the woods.

Sorry about the problem with Chrome. When I log in with the browser, it logs me into everything else.

  6. For some reason, Chrome logs into everything but this. I usually go over to Opera to post but since I can do reply I am doing that with Chrome.

    1. Yes, I've found that Google's own browser doesn't play well with Google's own blogging service. Makes you wonder sometimes. That's one of several reasons I gave up on Chrome and went back to Safari.

    2. That's odd because chrome works fine for me, both on my windows laptop and my iPad mini.

    1. I saw that on Twitter and was just smiling away at the slide video. What fun. Thanks for putting them up.
