Reflections on Vacation

  1. Looks like a little snow here and there…

Today EJ moves out, down inside 285, to live with some friends in Chamblee (dubbed Chambodia by the white folks, because they're white and they see people of East Asian descent there). Hoping for better job opps, plus having MARTA will extend his range as he doesn't have a car, and the friend is going to prop him up until he gets established. I'm going to help him move… and of course, my crap knee is picking today to be a b***ard. Anyway, time to turn that room into a library before the wife can object.

  2. There's that wonderful colour again -- there's something about that green that just pops from the photo (right) and in reflection here ... beautiful.

(Yes, had a bit of insomnia last night, ha.)

  3. Full geezer mode for me today -- didn't even notice that I never commented.

Hope the move went well, Larry, and your knee did okay.

I think that beautiful green is because the mountains get a lot of snow and rain

  4. Another sign of full geezer mode -- being up at 5:30 in the morning on a Sunday. Hope you all sleep much later.

  5. Funny how things work: the knee stopped complaining soon after we began loading the truck. We stopped at the hardware store in town for some more rope—the hutch we gave EJ as a dresser poked up above the cab and was catching more wind than either of us was comfortable with. Once we got that dealt with, it was smooth sailing with only one wrong turn, easily fixed by cutting through a QuikTrip parking lot. EJ's friend took the afternoon off from his job, and it took us maybe 15-20 minutes to get all his stuff in. Then the friend directed me to a Vietnamese joint where I had an expensive but very good lunch.
