  1. Morning all. We changed our plans and are skipping Colorado Springs as the forecast is for heavy rain and clouds -- not much point in going up to the summit of Pikes Peak. So now we're heading for Salina, Kansas today and home tomorrow.

Last hike was fantastic. We went to a gorgeous deep blue lake cradled in a cirque and surrounded on the other side by a meadow that was a riot of wildflowers of all kinds and colors. It really was awe-inspiring. The clouds kept building the whole time we were there and there was thunder in the distance and even rain down at the trailhead but go through this hike without any rain too.

    Happy to be heading home.

  2. Mmm, sounds wonderful and reminds me of what were probably my last hikes in this life, out near Lake Mary in AZ during monsoon season. Hope you Fs have a safe and pleasant journey home. Also hope Dina and her computer have managed to resolve their differences amicably, and that Larry & fam are enjoying Michigan. Best wishes to you all.

  3. Thanks, Andi! I'll keep you posted.

High in Grand Rapids today is 70. I told the wife that was going to happen and she was glad to hear it wasn't going to be as beastly-hot as at home. Although we'll be sitting around 80 most of the week there.
