  1. Morning all. Hope your Hump Day has an easy grade to the summit.

  2. Ah, the open road. My hump day is going very slow because I have jet lag. Just go back from 10 days in the UK - York, London, Glasgow and a day in the Western Highlands. It was very upsetting to see that the Glasgow School of Art (designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh) had a terrible fire the day before we were to arrive in Glasgow. It was the main thing we wanted to see! And it was right up the street from the hotel where we stayed. The people of Glasgow were just devastated by the loss - but while it sounded at first as if it would be a total loss, it turns out that the Glasgow Firefighters were able to save 90 percent of the building. But the damage to the library ... just dreadful. What are the odds that it would happen the DAY BEFORE I got there? Still, it was a good trip and we enjoyed Glasgow. I think it gets a bad tourist rap compared to Edinburgh - probably because it has no scenic Royal Mile and castle . But it has some excellent museums that are FREE. And the people are very friendly. I'd go back. All in all, it was a great trip. Mary B.

    1. It does sound like a great trip, even with the fire. Welcome back.
