  2. Pretty picture; I like all the swirls.

Mammogram report arrived, and while there were sufficient microcalcifications in 2012 for legitimate concern, there are fewer now (same radiologist read them all), and this is a very good thing. I'm not 100% convinced that I actually need the followup scans they suggested, probably going to have them done anyway, but am Officially Unworried.

Time enough for some kind of weekend cake, then. :) I keep looking at these recipes for cakey-cobbler-fruity dishes called buckles, slumps and/or grunts, can't figure out how I never heard of them until recently, but want to learn to make them. Berry season needs to get itself started already. Very best wishes to you all.

  3. I like those names. Happy baking!

One more really nice weekend before the next whatever hits on Wed. Time to go cut some more firewood, I guess.

  4. Glad that the unworrying has begun! And happy baking. Those sound very good.

I adore this picture - I see so much in the ice. Takes my mind on journeys!

  5. I'm so impressed at you standing up to the doctors Jen. I'm like Andy - I roll my eyes and complain but I always end up doing what they tell me even when I think it's pointless.

We had a BEAUTIFUL day today. I actually ate lunch outside on the patio of a Mexican restaurant. Tomorrow it gets cold again. I hope some of this weather finds its way to Indiana, Ohio and points further east. It made a huge difference in my mood.

    1. We did have the same lovely weather -- we reached a sunny 60 yesterday and it felt so much like spring that the dogs spent the afternoon sunning themselves on the deck. Sadly, today we will have a high of 38 and there is a chance of snow. Even worse, we have single digit lows predicted for this week. :(

  6. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and good wishes.

Mary, I'm glad you got a break from the deep freeze. This winter has been a rough one for our whole region + much of the east coast. It's been lovely here for the past couple of days, but winter was just having coffee and a smoke I guess, because we're going under the freeze again tonight.

Re: the medical stuff, I have to give a shout out to my doctor's office (she's very good; she may well turn out to be Ob-Gyn-Kenobi, but hopefully we never have to battle Vader, lol), because they had my back on this. The nurse called promptly to let me know the results of the scan, and then she called again to tell me NOT to let them scare me into scheduling another biopsy without meeting with my doctor first to make sure it was warranted, because they've been concerned the hospital has been pushing unnecessary procedures on their patients.

Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday that only involves warranted/desired procedures. :)
