  1. Happy weekend to all. Had a great time visiting with my friends yesterday. Next year in September will be the 50th anniversary of our first meeting in 9th grade -- maybe I can get the BBC to put a simulcast show commemorating the momentous occasion. :)

  2. Someone should certainly memorialize that event on some kind of storage device, what a neat thing that is, 50 years of friendship. That's the future of traveling pants, right there. I would rather produce it as a documentary, but if we had to go big Hollywood, who would you want to play you? I'm thinking Meryl Streep or Charlotte Rampling.

    Happy weekend to everyone! :)

    1. Meryl Streep or Charlotte Rampling?!!? I think we need someone a whole lot shorter and way less stylish. Miss Piggy, maybe?

    2. Does that mean I get to be played by Kermit!?!

Wishing everyone a good last weekend of 2013.

    3. They're not that tall! Especially for Hollywood. And Miss Piggy is even more fabulous than Streep and Rampling are (unless she's in character, I don't think I've ever seen Miss Piggy dressed down into pants), she's just pudgy, which you are not. Oooh, how about Dianne Wiest? She does fantastic character work and she's 5'4".

    4. And she was kind of schlumpy in Hannah and Her Sisters. ;)

P.S. I am pudgy but I wear it well. :D

    5. Kermit is much too short (and much too green) (although make-up and camera angles can help) to play you, Jim, but I'd give the Swedish Chef a callback. ;p

I've always thought Wiest was gorgeous.

  3. Morning all! I see sunlight out there, but there's rain in the forecast. Must be the weekend, then.

Need to drive some people somewhere. No such thing as a day of rest at FAR Manor.

    1. Well, you know what they say, Larry, rest, wicked, etc. :) Hope y'all enjoy your weekend down there at the Manor.

  4. Morning, all. Andi, that would be a great documentary. Friendships that span that kind of time are all too rare.

    Happy weekend to all!

  5. Going to be one of those changeable winter days -- going from a high of 43 to a low of 17. :(

  6. Rain is moving out. But am I imagining it, or are the days getting noticeably longer already?

Friday firewooding went really quick, as Panda came with his saw. We cut almost two truckloads before we realized it, so we left the biggest pieces behind. Yesterday, Don Juan helped me split that pile for Big V. I was hoping Splat or POD would do it, but I hope a lot of things that don't happen. :-P

A more possible hope is me finishing "Into the Icebound" by the first, so I can let it marinate for a month or so. Just need to get that not-quite-cliffhanger feel to it.
