  1. Morning all. Catching Fire was very good and Jim and I both thought it was much better than The Hunger Games.

And now begins The Driving Games. Today we have to go to Indy to run some errands and then get my Mom and bring her back to my sister's. Tomorrow we go pick the two of them and we all go to my other sister's place in Cincy for T'day. Then Friday I go get my mom at my sister's and take her back to Indy. Ugh on all that driving.

  2. Heh, your plans sound like one of those riddles about how there's a fox and a chicken and something else that eats foxes and/or chickens on one side of a river bank, and you have to get them over to the other side with a rowboat into which you can only fit one animal at a time, but you can't ever leave the fox alone with the chicken, etc. (So now I'm visualizing your mother as a chicken wearing Aero sweatpants and humming tunelessly.)

Naturally you'll want to take an extra couple of hours and drive over here, too, since I'm making coq au vin. ;p Seriously, you two be careful with all the drunken holiday warriors on the prowl. I wish your Subaru did a transformer move into a tank with flamethrowers.

    Happy holiday to you all!

    1. I would love (love, love) to have the time to drive up and see you.

P.S. We'll be driving our green Honda Element so we'll look like we're doing a decent impression of a tank ... but, sadly, no flamethrowers.

  3. Which reminds me, why don't the people enduring the zombiepocalypse make greater use of flamethrowers? I have never understood the lack of fire on The Walking Dead. Why would anyone sit around making arrows, or stab a zombie in the head at arm's distance, when you could fry one to ash from 20-50 yards? If I survive the initial z-invasion, there will be barbecued stacks of charred zombies in every direction, rising smoke trails as far as the eye can see, just sayin.

  4. Happy Turkey Eve, all!

So glad I'm not doing the traveling thing. Andi, I send you good driving vibes.

I love the idea of flamethrowers for zombiepocalypse. One thing that always made me crazy with Buffy - why didn't they use SuperSoakers full of holy water to battle vampires?

Wishing you all a happy holiday weekend and hope that the food is great and the company even better!

  5. Love how bright and cheery it is!

Echoing Jen and Maria on the safe/good driving vibes. Hope you have some interesting TTWs to keep you occupied.

    1. Bare trees on interstates don't offer much TTW opportunity. :(

  6. Happy Hanukah to anyone celebrating. And happy turkey day with a dose of safe traveling for tomorrow.

Larry, glad to hear your wife is doing well. Happy juice can be very helpful. :)

  7. Happy Hannukah, beginning tonight.

And everyone be careful on their drive over the river and through the woods ... or, on the Interstate ... to wherever you go for Thanksgiving.
