  1. Morning all. Mom had a great birthday. I gave her a large print Janet Evanovich stand-alone she hadn't read with a note on it that said she'd also be getting the new Stephanie Plum on November 18 when it came out. And she was so happy she actually hugged the book. :)

  2. Hola, gang and happy belated to Andi's mom.

Been VERY busy with omg-last-minute documentation @ the mimes, finally got that turned over to the project managers. Whew.

Dreary rainy day today which just reflects the mood of pretty much everyone around here, thanks to the shutdown. So very many people affected and it's tough. My sister-in-law works for USGS in Colorado (she's an earthquake geek) is working, but with no pay. I can't even bring myself to read stories/op-eds, etc. anymore because I just keep getting so very angry.

I'm planning to spend the weekend buried in books & trying to catch up on my shows. Purchased Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing yesterday, so I've got that to look forward to.

    How's everyone else doing?

  3. Hi, all. Andi, happy birthday to your mother - so glad it went well.

I love this picture. Almost looks like a waterfall in the sky.

Maria, I am with you on the shutdown. And I get really angry when the GOP idiots realize that something they like is shutdown and try and do a patch job. Goddess only knows where these idiots will take us.

  4. Good morning all,

Andi glad you Mom had a good B'day. Not much going on here except I actually used the heater a little bit last night.

Hope everyone is doing well and take care.

  5. Sounds like a great birthday, Andi! Good to hear your mom liked her pressie.

I'm still too stunned with the goplets to be angry yet. They've always been able to act rationally when it was in their own self-interest before. A quick glance at how this turned out last time should have been enough. Oh well, maybe the sane party will regain the House in 2014, and there will be some useful legislation. We can hope.
