  1. Morning all. Our new/refurbished ipad mini arrived yesterday. If you're buying an Apple product, this is definitely the way to go because despite the discount (15%-20%), the ipads come with a new case, a new battery, and the same 1 year warranty as a new one. Now I can read ebooks without feeling guilty for hogging and with much more comfort (for me, the regular ipad was too heavy for reading for lengths of time).

  2. We've bought refurbs before and had good luck with them. I'm using the iPad 1 right now, it has stood up to a lot of banging around over the years. But I always get wraparound covers for mobile devices when I can, to cushion the drops (and frustrated Mason fits when YouTube pauses).

  3. Hola, gang!

I'm all about refurb store. The mini is most definitely better for my hands, too, which is why I switched.

Been keeping busy @ the mimes & doing very much of nothing @ the home place. My new/ongoing fan squee is for the Marvel 'verse. Last night's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere is the 1st show I've watched "live" in years. Am stupidly excited about the season, as it hits all the right fannish buttons for me.

    Hope you're all doing well.

  4. Good morning to everyone.

I have a mini that I received new as a gift (I don't know from refurb or full size), but I can only hold it for about 45 minutes before all the joints in my hands start to howl, so I can't watch movies or read books or size up. E loves to watch tv shows on her iPad but for me it's essentially a handheld gaming device.

I was knockout exhausted last night so I let the DVR pick up Agents for me; will watch it later today after tasks. I usually love Whedon's stuff but I know absolutely nothing about the Marvel 'verse so I don't know whether I'll be able to relate to the material. Superheroes are not my thing, but Whedon & Co. do dark and twisted pretty well, and that IS my thing, heh. ;p

I have to finish cleaning out the garage before the snow flies this year, and I've been procrastinating like I got elected to Congress, so it's time to get off my ass and get some work done. PITY ME.

Hope you all have a great day, whatever you're up to.

  5. Messed up and didn't DVR Shields. Thank goodness for On Demand!

  6. We DVR'ed Shield too but haven't watched it yet. Not really my kind of show but I will always give a TV show that Whedon is behind a try.

I still prefer the full-size ipad for surfing but the mini is great for reading and email.

Since we don't have a garage, Jen, first I'll envy you and then I'll pity you.
