  1. A very big bird morning to all -- no, not the one on Sesame Street but the eagle (eagle!) I saw down at the camp lake yesterday. I was so excited; the dogs OTOH were blase.

  2. So hockey season's over, huh? :-( Well, that means the ice melted, time to go play outside! Janet, you and Daughter Dearest could have a Shopper Hatefest. I dropped her at the maul on Monday (for work), and she cast a baleful eye around the full parking lot. "I hate these people," she said. Seems that lily-white goobers aren't the only ones who let their kids run wild… a family from India came in, one of the kids pulled down a banner and ran through the store with it while another knocked over a clothes rack. And the parents left clothes they tried on all over the dressing room floor (and smelling of curry).

I had a pithy comment about writing a blurb/synopsis RT'ed on Twitter a lot yesterday. "How to write a blurb: 1) Tape a piece of paper to the wall. 2) Bang head repeatedly against paper. 3) Transcribe blurb from the bloodstains." As for my own exercise in head-wall'ing, I decided to put a few candidates up on the blawg for readers to vote on; people had fun when I did it last time.

Eagles! Pretty! What was it Ben Franklin said? "The eagle is an eater of carrion, and the symbol of four hundred years of European mischief."

    1. Since we already have quite a few carrion eaters around here -- vultures, crows, coyotes, Sniff, Bebo -- we don't mind at all having more.

  3. Morning Andi,

Congrats on seeing the eagle! George was also blase when we would have big hawks flying around. I got to thinking, "you know, one of them could carry George off." So while George was blase I was always in a panic when they were around. :)

Hope everyone has a good one.

  4. ::drags in, bleary-eyed and blinking, cowlicks straight up, waves at everybody, wows appreciably at the eagle sightings, goes back to bed::

  5. Yes, I am still alive.

    EAGLE!

Spent the holiday weekend lazing about and eating bon-bons (aka Burdick Choccies sent to me by some friends). Also spent it dealing with massive fibro flare. :(

I am looking forward to Friday.

    1. Maria my oldest daughter has fibro. I've seen the way she suffers with it, and I do hope you get to feeling better.

      Take care
