  1. Did you hear that Google Reader is going away. I was really surprised. Anyway, I looked at several recommended replacements and went with Feedly which has plug-ins for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox and apps for iOS and Android. And as long as you start using it before Reader goes away, it automatically imports all your info.

    Also ... good morning.

  2. Andi, the reflection in that ice is fantastic.

Maria, I'm sorry to hear about your eye condition and I hope the drops work like MAGIC.

I've never used Google Reader (or any other similar thing) (I don't even know what they are) (and I don't care, lol). I have been using a different piece of Google software, though, to stay in touch with my sisters and cousins. It's a total piece of crap that has convinced me never to pay any money for Google 'ware.

  3. I was surprised too. I use Google Reader but read through the Reeder app for iPad and iPhone. Since there is time I'm going to wait to see what Reeder decides to do and then choose.

  4. So very bummed about Google Reader - I use it constantly throughout the day in my professional capacity, as well as for fun. I'm leaning towards Feedly myself, though I'm also giving Newsblur a shot.

Of the interesting - went to the doc yesterday (regular doc) to try to figure out why I continue to have tummy issues. In the course of tests & suchlike (inc. x-ray b/c I've been having shortness of breath), she discovered I have pneumonia! First time ever in my life. To add insult to injury, I'm going to have to give stool samples and, for the nonce, stay off dairy. BAH.

Today I'm miming from home as the stealth-pneumonia seems to be grabbing hold & I'm doing some coughing. Welcome to my crazy body.

OTOH, if you're a Veronica Mars fan, the movie Kickstarter project funded its $2 million in just short of 11 hours. Still 29 days to go and fans are still pledging $$. (In fact, the total as I look at it now is > $2.5 million. Never underestimate the power of fandom.

    Happy Pi Day!

  5. Happy Pi Day, all.

I am also (thanks to Maria) a Google reader user. I am trying various ones. Newsblur isn't free if you have more than 12 feeds which is most annoying. I can't get it to load enough to test it.

I am going to try Feedly and see how that works.

  6. I've been using feedly all day and I'm pretty happy with it -- it's got some advantages over reader (slicker interface for one). So I guess I won't miss reader too much.

Psst Jen -- refraction. Also, thanks. :)

Eek Maria -- pneumonia! Much feeling better soon to you.
