Frost Flower Friday

We've had such a bumper blossoming of frost flowers and I've taken so many photos of them that I've decided to set Friday aside as Frost Flower Day until I get tired of posting them.

Taken November 4-6, 2012.

  2. It's Frost Flower Friday!!

I'm spending a bit of time recording some voice over for the mimes, then... drumroll... I GET TO PICK UP PHIL!! Body shop called me yesterday evening that he's ready to roll. Whee!!

Hoping to have the energy to hit up Trader Joe's on the way home.

    Happy weekend!

  3. Morning Candis and Maria and all who follow.

Candis, I can see that, though I thought it looked like a woman waltzing in a dress with a swishing skirt. And bottom left was a spinning Hanukkah dreidel.

  4. Nature's Rorschach!

To me, the bottom left one looks like an Alice in Wonderland mushroom, tall as a skyscraper. Andi and Candis each saw part of the whole I saw in the top right image -- a mermaid. ;) Upper left is the back view of one of Shakespeare's witches at the brew, and bottom right is a sailboat coming about in crosswinds.

  5. I've never seen anything like them (apart from here over the years!) They're magical.

I'm still pottering along, getting caught up with Christmas shopping, presents, cake, etc. When the kids were small and money was tight aka non-existent, I used to buy cards and presents in the January sales but I don't bother now. I do like a bargain though!

  6. Forest Taffy!

My husband is losing his mind in Ireland right now. The cops there don't even carry guns. Over 20 kids shot down in an elementary school. What next? A maternity ward? When can we have real gun control in this insane country?

Last night at work, this proNRA psycho freak responded to the rest of us in the breakroom who were discussing the need for gun control she called us "Grave Dancers" and that "you people" blame pencils for your spelling errors. When I make a mistake with a pencile, I can ERASE it. You can't do that with a mass killing machine.

We have to "KILL" the NRA.

Wayne is so mad... and seeing this from abroad and hearing the disgust from nonAmericans about America... he wants to leave the US now. He's seriously sick of the gun worship.

Kids... and so this is Christmas...

  7. I've just seen the news, it's unbearable.
Police here don't carry guns except on armed response cases; friend of ours was a senior policeman and he said the day the British police were armed was the day he'd resign.

  8. I can hardly stand to read the news stories or listen to them -- it's just devastating.

  9. Too upset to enjoy these pictures. I can't believe it. What will it take to start having reasonable discussions about gun control?????

  10. Most other countries, their policemen look like our mailmen. Here our policemen look like most other countries military.

Our kids can't go to malls or even elementary school. I'm sure some rapepublican will say that our schools should be in lockdown mode, like little prisons, always.

My country isn't free nor brave. It's a country where violence is the religion.

But I'm sure people will turn off the news and go shopping...

  11. Already I've heard that "only if" the teachers had been permitted to carry guns into their workplace....

    OMFG.

Cut schools budgets and buy more guns for the teachers. Typical Rapepublican terrorist sympathizer response.
