  1. I hope Maria is up, up, and happily away in San Antonio.

I'm still glad that Larry took a crack (poor/good word choice?) at it Jen.

Good try, Larry, but I think whatever was in my brain was way dirtier. ;)

I guess it was nun too soon, Mary, to be packing. Hope your up, and away goes happily, too.

  2. Almost forgot ...

I talked to Whit (Family Man) last night. The trailer he was living in burned and he lost everything but he and George are both okay. And it looks like he will be able to move into 1 1-bedroom apartment in some subsidized housing in town. George will have to go live with his sister, though.

Despite all that he actually sounded pretty chipper. One good thing is that the trailer was in an isolated area and now he will be in town.

  3. Oh my gosh, andi, thanks for the update. Poor Fam. I'm glad he'll be in town, though I can't imagine his not having George with him. Wow.

Hope maryb and Maria have safe travels and fun on their respective trips!

Waving to all who come after. TGIF. Busy weekend ahead, then back to Planet Georgia on Tuesday for a few days. It's been a stressful week, so I'm ready to go hide in the woods again for a few days. But today, back to work for a few hours. Maybe someday I'll find time to write again...

    Happy weekend, y'all!

  4. OH NO FAMILY MAN! I am so glad to hear that he and George are okay but so sorry for his loss. I've lost everything before and it is so hard, is there any way for us to help out/would he accept it? I could definitely send at least a little something to help him get back on his feet.

Meanwhile, I will be dealing with this "in my beautiful bal-LOOOOOOON" earworm all day, so thanks for that Andi.

  5. Have a great time in the woods, Beth.

Jen, he told me that one of the best things to come out of this is how generous everybody has been in providing him what he needs to get re-set so I think he will be okay. But if I find out otherwise, I do have his mailing address (it's a PO Box) and I will send it to you.

Also, how about I replace that earworm with the much-better Fifth Dimension doing Laura Nyro's Stoned Soul Picnic?

  6. Whew, good! Please do keep me posted. He's such a sweet old-school gentleman, I hate to think of him suffering.

Replacement earworm is almost as awesome as their outfits in that video. :)

  7. Oh, crap, FM! I'm glad they're OK, but poor George, I can't imagine him taking separation very well.

Mary, hope the convent-ion goes well.

Beth, you've got the planet to yourself, I'm about to leave for NC for the weekend!

So if you don't see me, have a good weekend....
