  1. Woo hoo. We got an 1 1/2 of rain last night.

Bummer, Jen. We've been though many hotwater-less days (because of power outages) so we can definitely sympathize.

How'd the cooking experiment go, Maria?

Larry, it's probably the only acknowledgement of the political season this blog will have.

Rain is wonderful. I wish we would end this drought by getting rain everyday for the next 2 weeks (but the forecast for the next 7 days sadly shows none). Happy Wes Working!

  2. HOMG, cat, why on earth did you wake me at 5:45 a.m.? Oh yeah, because you do not grasp the concept of "Saturday". ::feeds cat, crawls to computer::

I think I'm going back to bed.

    Happy Saturday, all.

  3. We had major rainstorms last night, much needed, slow and steady rain outside now, perfectly lovely time for another HOT SHOWER. Happy weekend to everyone.

  4. Okay, now I'm more awake...ish.

The soup turned out great! I basically cooked the ham bone for 8 hours in the crockpot, then removed the bone, added shredded cabbage, shredded carrots & shredded broccoli (aka bagged coleslaw mix & broccoslaw mix), plus some spices and some textured vegetable protein. It's definitely a meal-worthy soup.

Can't wait until the cool weather gets here so I can start making some of my yummy black bean chili and other stews/soups for fall.

Storms headed this way, Jen. Glad you got your hot shower!!

    Wishing rain towards Andi.

I got all the audio foam panels onto the walls yesterday and spent time experimenting how to mount them on the faux shoji screen without damaging the screen. So far, nothing's worked. Rethinking what I'm going to do there. Though today, I will probably spend the day doing mostly nothing, because I'm pooped! A bit of a fibro flare, but I'm just soooo glad my energy seems to be back!

  5. Glad you got a hot shower, Jen! I was about to send you my amber-patchouli body oil, baby! :D

Huge thunderstorm just threw down on our hood.

Had a VERY Portland day. Went to check out Movie Madness which is a rental store but a movie museum as well. Then to a bike collective where Wayne got his bike worked on while we had incredible gyros at a food cart sanctuary. Hawthorne/Belmont area. Think Haight-Ashbury up North.

  6. Morning all and yay for good food and hot showers and very Portland days.
