A Swirl of Green

  1. Not the prettiest maidenhair fern picture I've ever taken but, with the drought, it was about the last bright green left in the woods.

    Morning everybody.

  2. Morning, gang!

Another day @ home for the mimes, though having a bit of a technical issue this a.m. (VPN connection won't let me access any other website except our staff intranet and our company's site) - a bit of a problem since I'm working on content stuff for one of our clients and I can't even get to their site. So I've logged off the VPN and am on my normal connection for now. /techgeek

    Hope everyone's day goes smoothly!

  3. Afternoon, all! Didn't realize I'd been gone so long. 3 days in the wilds of Planet Georgia last week at the hunting cabin, working in the woods. Music events all weekend. Then dashed to NC for a quick visit with my cousins from AZ, who were in town for a couple of days. I can't imagine that I used to enjoy road trips - 2 8-hour days made me crazy. But I'm home now for a bit, and trying to decide if I should take a nap before I head out to work tonight's music gig.

I decided to move, and will be living in a lovely mother-in-law kind of apartment attached to the home of friends. Smaller, but a lot cheaper, and closer to most of my music events. Now I just have to pack, ugh......I have a month, so at least I can pick away at it slowly.

Hope everyone is having a peaceful week - I'll try not to be gone for so long next time!

  4. I'm sitting along the stern rail of the S.S. Badger, waiting to depart Manitowoc. Had a great time seeing The Boy, now it's off to Dad's across the lake. (Lake Michigan, that is).

Got a little bad news last night: my uncle died. But at least I'll make the funeral. Dad was in a wreck a couple days ago; he's OK but his car is trashed. At least I'll be able to drive him around while I'm there.

The Boy & his friends being late sleepers, I've been getting a ton of writing done the last few days before they get up. At this rate, I'll have the Pickups and Pestilence done before I get back home. (And there was much rejoicing.)

Good to hear everyone's doing well. Safe travels & rain in good measure to all!

  5. Hi, all. Hugs to Larry; sounds like a rough few days.

Beth, you continue to amaze me. I don't know how you can contemplate moving again. I am 20 years in my house and want to leave feet first.

Maria, hope the tech works. Great news about John Barrowman, eh?

    Good Wednesday all.

  6. Evening all, sorry to hear of your trouble, Larry.
It's the school summer holidays here and I don't seem to have had a moment to myself for weeks, what with changing beds all the time for a constant stream of visitors, which has been great but exhausting. Peaceful today though.
Well done, USA, for winning the Olympics - and well done, GB, for coming third. I freely admit I dreaded the games, assumed all kinds of dire disasters, etc, but got absolutely hooked from the moment the Queen turned up with James Bond!
