Janet, thanks the story of your friend and for the description of the wedding. It cheered my day.

  2. Morning, gang!

Janet - great wedding story. Made my morning.

Love the doggies in this pic, Andi. Their personalities shine. ::g::

Cool front came through on the backs of another massive thunderstorm. Today's high: 85-90. I can deal with that, though I prefer mid-70s.

Off to the mimes this a.m. & hoping for a solid, uneventful week.

    Cheers!

  3. Howdy! Back from a fun few days with my guy, visiting friends, and playing/listening to live music. The holiday was wet, but that meant no fires from the fireworks. Now I'm back at the regular routine.

I feel so awful for all of you suffering under that heat. We're at our typical high 80's/low 90's. It'll get a wee bit warmer at some point, but the sea breezes keep it really tolerable. And we expect this kind of weather, so have A/C, pools, and the ocean to escape to. I hope y'all get back to your regular temps soon!

Now it's back to work. Helping friends pack today to move this weekend. And the home run derby tonight! But otherwise, I'll be catching up from not working enough the last few weeks.

    Stay cool, all!

  4. Awww, sweet story, Janet. I'm so glad they were able to overcome everything and reunite. So cool in real life, so cheesy in a romance novel. ;-) raises glass May they live happily ever after.

"Only" getting to 90 today, with a 40% chance of rain. I sure hope it happens.

Oh hey, I reached a couple milestones with White Pickups last night. It wanted one more scene, in which I knock off a minor character and give Elly some backstory, and that bumped the word count past 100K. I also finished the editorial pass the editor started (got 1/3 of the way through). Next week, I'll ask her to do a quick scan through the last part—and then it's FINITO. Now where did I put that Launch Cannon…

  6. Stay cool? You want to come over here, I took a hotwater bottle to bed last night! Seriously vile weather that just goes on and on, and despite the jokes about our weather, summer's usually perfectly OK, but this year? Rain, rain, rain - and just for a change, more rain.

We've had a week away in Lincoln, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln,_which was great. I've got a bee in my bonnet at the moment about visiting all the cathedral cities that were originally great Roman towns, and Lincoln is certainly that. The cathedral is magnificent and there are lots of steep cobbled streets with interesting little shops.

I hope you all get a respite from the heat and that some of your sunshine hurries over here pretty quickly!
