  1. Hi all. I'm up at my mom's. I haven't mentioned that we're moving her from her condo to a senior living facility because I was sure the Evil Eye would f*ck it up. But she's signed the lease and we've started moving her stuff. I am so relived to not have her living at home. But yikes does she have a houseful of stuff. It won't take that long to get her set up in her new apartment but I feel like it will take forever to clean out her place.

So glad, Jen, that there is better news on E's dad. Here's hoping that he goes from being stabilized to actually improving.

Hope everybody has a good day.

  2. Morning, gang.

Andi, eep, moving, such fun. /sarcasm May it all go well.

Jen, thanks for the update on E's dad.

Off to the doc in a few. Whatever possessed me to schedule an 8:00 a.m. appointment? Oh well, at least I'll be done & back home early to avoid the awful heat.

    Wishing everyone a great Friday/weekend!

  3. ::sigh:: Dad's problem finally started to settle down and then his genius doctors poked him right in the problem and made it angry again. He's still in ICU, and now we are blaming his asshat doctors.

Maria, I hope your doctor is not an asshat!

Andi, moving is one of the most stressful things, and all that stuff is a big reason why. I would offer to help if I were capable of it, I'm sorry that I can't. I'm glad that your mom signed the lease and now you can worry less about her.

Wishing gentle soothing rains to all who are parched.

  4. To Jen and Maria - here's wishing good doctors and good results.

Andi, my sympathies. My mother downsized when she moved into assisted living and died over 4 years ago and I am STILL going through her stuff. Hard to do in so many ways.

Hot here today but at least yesterday's storms did not bring power failures or straight rain. Just rain and lots of thunder and lightening.

  5. At least your dogs make art, Andi. Ours just make a mess. Crissy, the World's Most Obnoxious Living Mammal, dug out of her pen last night and dragged trash out of the garage this morning. Hope the move goes well. I assume most of it isn't going with her to the facility, or is it?

Maria, hope the doc appt goes (went) well!

Jen, that sucks. But I wonder, if the problem was that easy to re-flare, maybe it wasn't really settled down? Yeah, they're still asshats. Whatever happened to "above all, do no harm"?

Dealing with some asshats of my own at the mimes this morning. I think their manager directs them to obstruct as much as possible. I've been instructed in the past to let the supervisor deal with it though, so I'm backing away & letting him deal. Vacation next month, vacation next month…

  6. Jen and Maria - I shall send you on a virtual healing spa. And I hope I no longer offer up my beloved sister of another mutha, Jen, no more nasties. :) Yes, it's me that is allergic to soy/dairy.

Yesterday was a FANtastic day at work. We hosted a player from the portland timbers. Connall, Wes' best friend and classmate, was granted a wish last year.... anyways, they were the hit at my store. They boys were so happy! They got all their soccer schwag autographed, my store took tons of photos - one of me will be emailed to me shortly. As you know, we are HOCKEY fans but Wes supports his friends obsession as does he in return. I asked Wes what was the best part of yesterday and he said, "Being with Conall." :)

Left to Right outside the dining portion of our grocery store:
Conall - Portland Timbers Biggest Fan
    Darlington Nagbe
Wes - Portland Timbers Biggest Fan's Best Friend

Off to yoga - will be hydrated so as I don't have a repeat fainting spell.

Oh and I'm booking an appt with a tatto artist: Infinity Tattoo in N.PDX (Navajo of DailyKos, her daughter uses them)

    Love you guys!

  7. Good luck with the move, andi. I'm glad she's moving, but what a challenge.

Wishing better health to all who need it.

Watching the Opening Ceremonies - I came in late, so must have missed the good part. Trying to stay up to watch the torch being lit, but prolly not going to make it.

Still struggling with relationship stuff. Every time I think I've figured it out, and he can't hurt me any more, he does it again. And I have to find the strength to pick myself up all over again. I swear, I don't know why I keep trying. Anyway, this, too, shall pass.

Going to bed. Tomorrow will be better, right?
