Seeing Spring on the Horizon

  1. Lovely quiet pic today! Still coughing like a consumptive. Decided to work @ the mimes from home the rest of the week. I'd rather hang out here in my jammies and not bother my co-workers by hacking up a lung every few minutes.

Of the good, I have found the perfect sleep script: a slug of Delsym cough syrup, 1/2 dose of Nyquil (1 capsule). I managed to sleep like a LOG from about 10:30 to 5:45 - didn't wake up once.

I am feeling MUCH better overall, it's just this nagging cough that makes me want to scream.

    How y'all doing?

  2. I guess everyone else is watching the sky this morning…

Andi, I'm partial to Stanza as an eReader app on the iPad. If you install Calibre on your computer to manage your eBook collection, then you can download eBooks from Calibre to Stanza over your wifi. Calibre can also convert between most formats, allowing some future-proofing. (That includes PDF to whatever conversions, but those aren't too great for obvious reasons.) I have to thank Maria for suggesting that back when I got my Kindle.

Started in on the White Pickups fixup yesterday. I've removed words, I've added words, so far (about 5% in) word count is a wash. If I'm given a few free hours this weekend, I'll really make a dent in it.

Well, the mimes are waiting… need to get to it.

  3. Happy to hear you are feeling better, Maria. I've always good luck with Nyquil liquid when I've had colds.

I have Stanza (Jim sync'ed his iPhone apps and that was one of them) but I don't know if I want to use Calibre to get my library books in it since I've got the Overdrive app on the iPad and I'd have to get the books over to the PC, use calibre, and then move them back to the ipad.

  4. Sorry about the cough, Maria. Staying home is def the best plan for getting better...

I'm suffering iPad envy, andi! Have wanted one for a while. Enjoy your new toy!

We're starting to dread summer down here in the flatlands. But for now, still basking in the gorgeous "spring" weather - low 80's today. Just got back from the pool, after working a 14 hour day yesterday. Feast or famine. Thinking about branching out on my own to do transcription work. Know anyone who needs something typed? :)

Love the pic, andi. May spring stay in Brown County for a few months!

    Happy day, y'all!

  5. I wish spring would stay all summer, Beth.

  6. New iPad and I missed it? Cool!
