Walkers with the Dawn
by Langston Hughes

Being walkers with the dawn and morning,
Walkers with the sun and morning,
We are not afraid of night,
Nor days of gloom,
Nor darkness--
Being walkers with the sun and morning.

  1. Great picture and poem. I just wish I could walk like that!

    Happy Sunday all.

  2. Janet, that was hilarious! I think Daughter Dearest at 14 might have called my bluff though.

Hi Dina! I'm having a gout issue that's keeping me from walking very far too. :-(

Went to what I thought was a decent Mex joint last night & I have Montezuma's Revenge this morning. TMI

First editing pass went OK. Today I read it backwards.

  3. Farf, in your neck of the woods, forget Mexican cuisine. Mexican food in the South East is like... well, nevermind what it's like it just isn't happening. Go for good Cuban food. No decent Tex-Mex or Mexican food here either. Only one or two but they are always full. I miss the one good place we had. It was authentic. Not covered in beans, cheese and sour cream.

ICY today. So Mr. Bike woke me up to drive him in. Skeeery! He might have to catch a ride back with someone or bus it. Not sure what the weather is going to do. Because our Science is now brought to you by Morons.

Anyone see the TeBowie youtube? LOL GO Patriots!

Watched the 49ers game. Wow! Right down to the final 3 seconds... Sharks won, too.

    Sorry Beth and Wesley.

    I'm going back to bed.

  4. I made something that everyone here likes. Not Mexican Farf, but won't give you the runs. Kids here demand these each time I make a grocery list. Was going for a gyro-wrap.

    Warm flour tortillas
    Tzatziki Sauce with garlic/dill
Raw Baby Spinach or other greens
    Thinly sliced red onions
    Thin poker chips of cucumbers
Chicken breast sliced and sauteed in butter till golden.

Place all ingredients on wrap in order and roll up like a burrito and Enjoy. You could put this into Pita pockets as well.

    Wow it's really snowing now!

  6. Hope you like em, Dina! They're easy and fill you up.

Stopped snowing, some thaw, but now it got COLDER. No frost flowers in my yard.

  7. Hi all,

Interesting walk with the dogs today. We were up on a ridge above a valley where Bebo has disappeared for long stretches of time on other walks. We looked around to see if she and Sniff were with us and we saw that Bebo was with another dog about her size, but with the shape and coloring of our old malemutt, Giddy. The other dog tried to run away but Bebo blocked her and they ended up about 20 feet from us. Bebo was playing having a good time, but the other dog wanted nothing to do with us because the other dog was a coyote. It got away from Bebo so Bebo gave chase and so did we. 15-20 minutes later she came back to us. The rest of the walk was uneventful.

  8. Bebo was playing with a Coyote? Wow!

And I felt all pioneery for going out and feeding the birdlets and squirrels during the snow without putting on my coat. LOL

  9. Coyote!

    Whoa!

So any cats (if they're still ... duh, duh, dun ... alive) have even more to worry about ... ;-)
