  1. Morning Gang!!!

Been a busy start at work after the holidays. Exams and I had to do a presentation twice Friday for staff development. So now can breathe a bit.

Maria, the sleep study pics are humbling. I don't know how anyone could sleep at all rigged up like that. My brother uses a cpap so understand the need. Hope they can help you keep that nasty insomnia demon at bay.

Farf, congrats on the story award. Fun, fun to have people appreciate what you write.

Homebody Beth, glad you are enjoying roots. Though you've been doing quite a bit of tumbling. I think y'all had more cold than we have. It's in the 60s right now but supposed to be in the 20s tonight. We need some winter to kill the weeds/bugs.

Retirees Andi and Jim, hope you are enjoying the down time. New hobbies or trips or other diversions these days?

Waves to Dina, Janet, Nicky, MaryB, Candis, and all others to come.
    A great week to all.

  2. Morning, gang!

Lisa, lovely to see you around!

Am keeping the hungry wolf at bay this a.m. as I continue to fast in prep for bloodwork at 9 a.m. Visions of toasted bagels dancing in my head.

Had the *weirdest* dream early in the a.m. - I was at some beachside/aquarium place and "fished" 3 kittens using this weird machine (kittens were trapped instead of fish). Then I promptly took them home to my new apartment.

I know the "new apartment" portion was because my lease is due to be renewed and I was toying with the idea of moving up to a 1 bedroom, but boy, the rest? Chalk it up to drug induced insanity!

We're facing a weirdly warm day again, post a normal winter day yesterday. Go figure.

    Happy Tuesday, all!

  3. Lisa, always to great to have you drop by. I'm glad things are easing up for you at work. Our biggest diversion right now is thinking about our May (first time ever we have been able to take a vacation in May) trip to Utah.

Clearly, Maria, you "hunger" for more kitties. :)

We're off to Cincy in a little bit to see Jim's Mom. Hope everyone has a great day.

  4. Bit of snow on the ground here. Hope every else has the weather they want.

    Andi, have fun.

Maria, my sympathies - I hate fasting. I hope the test is promptly done.

Waves to Lisa - glad you are getting a chance to catch your breath.

    Happy Tuesday, everyone.

  5. Ice. Snow. Rain. Crappy schizoid weather.

Maria, I didn't look at the pix as I knew they'd be a huge trigger for me. My mother went thru tons of apnea, oxygen tests and then in the end had tons of tubes and stuff. I'm sorry you are having to go through all that.

I have to get the doctors to find a new athritis medicine for me other than 1,200 mgs of Naproxin. That's just wayyyyyyyy too much and quite possiblly the cause for all the Montezuma's Revenge type IBS issues I've had since August. Which was when I had my gall bladder removed. Wasn't an unnecessary surgery, whew, as the doc said the thing was done. But now I have some idea as why I'm hurting. Hoping to start Yoga this upcoming weekend.

I've tried fiddling with my naproxin intake and if I go to 600 (one pill a day) I can barely take my shirt off or reach for a glass out of the cupboard. But I'm stoked that the gastronologist (?) doctor agress that it's too high a dose. Patient heal thy self?

Cats are wonky. Squirrels are coming up to the window just to be a bunch of teases. Back to our winter feeding of the feathered fellows in our backyard. So the cats are busy patroling the windows.

Not sure what today will bring. Wes got to school but Danni stayed home as she and most of her friends have a sore throat and flu like symptoms. She just has a bad throat, cough and fatigued. She's so tired, she's not even texting.. Ohmigosh! LOL

take care, be safe. Have a good time in Way to Go Ohio, Andi!

Winterhawks are on a roll! Record wins at home. And the beat the top team in the US last night!

  6. For those of you who aren't on Facebook - it's official. Severe sleep apnea. The report came in when I was in the primary care doc's office this a.m.

Seeing the sleep specialist on Friday (same practice as primary care & lung doc) for next step: CPAP machine.

Ah well. Perhaps this will solve the no sleep gigs.

  7. Maria, I have two friends with sleep apnea and having the CPAP has been very good for them; I hope it turns out the same for you. BTW, you may find the white noise it makes helpful for sleeping.

Dina and Janet, we had a fine trip (despite the pouring rain all the way over and the high winds all the way back).

  8. Maria, Sally has it and is finding that she sleeps so much better with the machine. She didn't think it would matter but it does. I hope you have the same result.

Andi, glad that your trip was good!
