  1. Hi, all. First thought - how did she get a picture of me because I feel like that with all the rain we are having.

Then imagined little ones sitting around under the caps telling stories and keeping dry.

The third thought came out of the lower right hand corner and let's just say I went in a WHOLE other direction. :)

  2. I was thinking if we lived in a place designed like that, I'd take an ice pick to my eardrums so I wouldn't have to listen to Mrs. Fetched constantly complain about stairs. ;-)

Dina, was that third thought something along the line of "grass and shrooms"?

From yesterday: Janet, that bat had been snoozing happy in the umbrella, then we cranked it up. All of a sudden, it was all exposure, bright morning sunshine, then one of those huge two-legged things was pointing something at him! It took him about 20 minutes to get his act together enough to fly away. That's tragic about the hockey team — always is, even if the flight is all regular people who are somebody only to their friends & family.

Did I mention I finally figured out why the white pickups are white pickups? I blogged a little about it last night. And about the difficulties of writing a blurb, and all the tweaks I've made to the blog this week.

  3. Quick drive-by post.

    Still raining & flooding.

I'm on an albuterol inhaler now (my lung function was pretty much crap).

    Bronchoscopy on 9/23. Whee?

    At least it's my Friday.

  4. Farf, not exactly thought grass and shrooms is a good one too.

  5. My first thought, "Nutcracker".

Farf, thanks. An entire squad of elite players from veterans to young new prospects... all gone. 10 nations were represented on that plane. Some of them younger than Wes. The people they need to erach out to, they're all going through the same horrible shock and pain as well. I can't fathom it.

However, as we were reeling from the worst day in hockey history, we got the call that Wayne's bil is being moved to HospiceCare. Cancer has been eating at him. Wayne's sister, just lost her 16 year old son in a car crash (deers in the road). So it's just tragic. Getting suits cleaned, plans made. I hate the thought of him flying on *9/11* insert trademark.

I think it's fair to say: I'm really bummed.

But I did get a kick out of reading how stupid the debated was last night. I think Perry is a toast. He stayed for that thing when he should been in Texas.

Oh but some cool news: Wayne is getting a tandem bike soon he's signed up for C Different as a captain for blind riders.

Here's a video of what they do: He's signed up for once a week. Wayne's my hero.

  7. Wow! I just made the best smoothie I've ever had. I didn't even use measurements LOL

    Some almond milk
    some plain coconut milk yogurt
About 2 Tbs of ground flax seeds
couple big dollops of white chocolate peanut butter
    threw in a banana
    some ice

    and this suckah is gooooooood!

  8. I think tomorrow I will amaze the kids with a half of this spectacular peanutbutter banana smoothie in a 16 oz glass and then top off the other half with their regular marionberry yogurt smoothing.

It'll look cool and be like a Peanut Butter and Jelly :)

Even on sad days, my mind likes to go POW. I think "creating" in any fashion helps me through bad times.

I found a new site that has some really good smoothie recipes to getcha started if interested. It covers all the basics as well as the 'ewwww gross kind" :) I don't call them smoothies... I call them Morning Margaritas.

  9. Janet, I found Perfect Smoothie a while back and that seems to work. I made smoothies from the blackberries I'd picked in June/July, soy milk, protein powder, and ice. Mason and I were the only ones who liked them, so I only had to share with him. ;-) The girlies did like the blueberry & banana smoothie though.

  11. Dina, I'm very happy and proud to have sent your mind in that direction. :)

I don't think there are stairs, Farf. I think there are slides.

Sorry about the rain, Maria, but very happy to say that it rained again here today. First time it's rained two days in a row since June.

Janet, I am so sorry for all the bad news. But that's very nifty about Wayne and the tandem bikes. What a great thing to do. Smoothie sounds good too.

Candis, welcome to Brown County, land of the purty mushrooms. ;)
