  1. Nice sunshine pic to start a cloudy morning.

Now the power strip on my desk is acting up… it's like August in September here.

Mason's birthday pix on the blog, and here's a few vacation pix. The one of the bat was on top of Mom's patio umbrella; we unrolled it one morning & saw the shadow on top. Thinking it was a frog, I poked it from underneath and the shadow sprouted wings…

  2. Beautiful shot, andi.

Hope you had a good trip to NC, Farf!

Two of the companies I applied to online are interested in having me contract with them. Hopefully I'll be able to put together a 40 hour (okay, maybe 60) work week from all three companies. We'll see...

Spending the afternoon listening to one of my trop rock friends play music - hoping the predicted thunderstorms hold off, since it's outside!

Have a great Hump Day, y'all.

  3. Enjoying the coolth but not the rain. Wish I could send it all to central Texas. :(

I got my dates mixed up yesterday - *today* is my lung doc appt, not yesterday. Good thing I noticed before I drove all the way out there!

Kitty is home from boarding and is much happier...as I am. I missed the little furry monster.

Trying to function without caffeine today (requirement from lung doc) - am sleepy and groggy. Oh well, I shall survive.

    Wishing everyone a happy Wednesday!

  4. Mason is growing up! (Isn't that what we old folks are supposed to say? :)) Love the ones of him watering the flowers!!! That bat looks dog tired.

Maria, I know so many who have had to give up caffeine and many have said that eating apples helps with the itty bitty headaces and soothes the craving. Crispy apples. Drink lots and lots of water.

Beth, good luck with the good news!

Lesson learned from Perry in Texas? Don't cut funding for vital services and your only plan is to pray things work out. It's just such a horrible tragedy going on. Worst drought ever and funding for fire fighters at a zero almost - mostly they run on volunteers and that funding was drastically cut for the next two years. Way to go Perry. You're toast.

  7. Is THAT what the sun looks like? I've forgotten.

Maria, I am with you on sending this to Texas where it is needed.

Farf, loved the pictures - Mason is a cutey.

Beth, all appendages crossed that the work cometh.

Janet, doubling is good - particularly if it is chocolate!

Waves to any and all who come later.

  9. Huge loss of lives in the Russian crash. The entire KHL (3 time winning champs) died. 2 survivors - flight crew and one player but with horrific burns over 80% of their bodies.

This is just horrible for the hockey world and their families.

Ruslan Salei just had a baby. Many of these guys were knwn on the NHL and some prospects life Stefan Liv were onboard. It's just awful. I'm sorry, it's not just because I eat, live and breath hockey, but so much loss in Russia lately with all their tragedies. Wes is going to freak out when he gets home.

I just don't even know what to say.

Our nation is onfire and people are fighting about funding and "big govt"... I just am depressed out of my gourd.

  10. It's raining here today, Farf, which makes me very happy because we need it (now if only Texas would get some to put out those fires and the northeast wouldn't get any). Thanks for the link to the pics -- loved 'em (especially Mason on the golf cart)!

Good luck with the jobs, Beth. I hope you get what you want -- with plenty of time left of good times.

I'll bet Kitty will be feeling very, very snuggly for several days, Maria. Hope the doctor visit went well.

Janet, that's really sad about the hockey team.

  11. I would love to have a lot more of you rain here, Dina. I sure hope it doesn't rain enough to cause more flooding.
