  1. Morning Gang,

    Delurking to wave hello.
HOTTER THAN HECK here so laying low inside most days.
I've been busy writing on lessons for my online class.

Jen, the cats are SOOO cute. Good I don't live closer or you might be one short.

Jim, so glad you are up and riding again. Come on cooler weather so you can ENJOY more than tolertate the time out. Would have envisioned snow angles with that other pic.

Andi, what good books have you read lately? You pics continue to amaze. I've loved some of the plant compositions of late.

Beth, my aunt backed into a car recently. So fender issues abound. You be careful on the road. Don't want our tumbleweed gal with any broken limbs.

Maria, I love your enthusiasm with you hair. Vibrant color. Have you done green or purple? That might be too much for work.

Farf, sounds like you're getting more writing done lately. Fun.

Candis, wild weather for you and sounds like the garden has taken a licking.

Nicky, I hope you have some cooler temps.

Waves to Dina, Janet, Nancy, Kelly and all others that come by.

    Back to the lessons.

  2. Drat, I posted and then lost it! Happy Monday, all.
Been busy finishing my book - agent loves it, hope publisher will too. Am organising a family holiday in France later in the summer, 6 adults, 5 kids. Should be fun, if noisy!

    Have a great day, everybody.

  3. ::waves feebly::

Woke up wearing my crankypants today. I blame the heat/humidity.

According to WaPo: >you may feel the need for a shower by the time you get to work< - this is true. The ugh factor continues.

Lisa!! So glad to see you here.

Nicky, the family holiday sounds fund. Glad your agent loves the book. That's always a good sign. :)

I'm hoping to fly under the radar today & avoid people as much as possible.

  4. Waves to all. For some reason, Google keeps making me sign in so I have to post twice for the email comments.

  5. So everyone stay cool and dry.

We are lucky that today is much better than the weekend was. Though they say the heat may be back this weekend. Ugh.

  6. Waving to lurking Lisa! Hope your aunt is okay. I'm veeeery leery of other drivers now. Hoping folks leave me alone as I cross the country.

60 and raining this morning - I'm loving every second of it. Sorry about the H&H, Maria. Lay low and think of winter...

Running around like crazy this week, trying to get ready to leave on Thursday. I guess it's a good thing there's no work, because I wouldn't have time to do it anyway!

Stopped at Borders yesterday- I hate hate hate seeing bookstores close, even the big chain ones. Just so sad. I spent a lot of time in that one (we have no indie bookstores left in CDA), and will be so sad to see the building occupied by something else when I return to CDA.

Hope everyone has a good Monday -

  7. Howdy, howdy, Lisa! So happy to have you delurk. I just emailed you a list of books for your consideration.

A vacation in France sounds lovely, Nicky ... but 11 people would be about 9 more than I could handle. Yay for good news on the book.

Sorry about the cranky, Maria, but it is completely understandable.

Dina, lucky you to get a break. We aren't getting one or any rain either. :(

60 and raining ... so very jealous, Beth. Borders closing is sad but I have to admit I'm a part of the problem. I almost never go to brick-and-mortar bookstores anymore.

  8. Had a really crazy thunderstom this early am. In fact, it was the loudest and most brief one ever. At first, we all thought a plane or a truck had exploded on our street. I kid you not... that's how loud and bright it was.

Now some are saying it wasn't a thunderstrike... some are saying a low meteor???

  9. Howdy all! Looks like Bebo could just turn around and find the path…

Rained much of the day today here. Humidity was Planet Georgia Yucko but the temps made it tolerable.

Finally emailed Janet… I really need to do stuff right away instead of "later." Also need to figure out how to get all this stuff set up, as I haven't travelled on business in 6 years (at least) and things have certainly changed.

Beth, you got bonked? Did you read about my little mishap last winter? I can certainly relate.

Andi, I'm part of the problem right alongside you. Round trip from the manor to the nearest bookstore (an indie, at least) is close to 50 miles. In the last year, all but one or two purchases have been eBooks. I don't have to find shelf space for them and I don't have to burn gas (often on two trips because the indie store has to order what I want). Mason's books are all board books, but when he gets older there's a color "Winnie the Pooh" on the iPad…
