  1. Continued from yesterday ...

Wah, Farf and Janet, jealous of your rain (though what I'd like is nice steady rain, not storms and downpours). Have fun arranging your meetup (anticipation is always part of the fun to me).

  2. Let there be light...and there was heat & humidity along with it!

We got downpours yesterday evening. Enough to cool us down a bit--at least for 1 night. Getting hotter again today.

I keep trying to convince myself that this, too, shall pass and I'll soon be complaining about the bitter cold winter, but right now, bitter cold sounds sooooo good. ::g::

Lots of folks on vaca @ the mimes, so work is a bit on the interesting side. I'm going to help with phones tomorrow - oh joy. I am utterly phone system challenged & have always been. Despite my comfort with computers, phone systems seem to bring out the OMG in me. :)

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!

  3. Lovely picture!

We had showers yesterday which cooled things down a bit. Today isn't supposed to be bad - here's hoping.

    Waves to all.

  4. Andi, just ask Texas Gov. and possible Presidential candidate Perry to pray for better weather. He's actually calling for some national day of prayer for beter weather August 6th. Pray that the nation doesn't engulf in flames like what happened in Texas the last time this crazy zealot did this. If this gun runs... I just can't believe things can get much scarier. Maybe Sheriff Joe of Arizona can be the VP... Puke.

As to the bookstores closing, it is sad. I wish the Wal Marts were closing instead. However, I'm buying books from Powells and others in enough volume to make up for Andi and Farf :)

Work wants me to go back to 5 days instead of 4. Ugh. It's only been about 6 weeks of my new schedule that was ordered by my doctor. I said I could be available to lend a hand but that I'm finally feeling like my body is starting to "heal". (which is why they want me back, I'm "looking and acting so much better") phhhhtt.

Farf, pick up Andi and Jen on your way to PDX will ya? :)

  5. If this gun runs...

Actually that's not a typo LOL. Perry is the guy who feels the need to carry a loaded gun while jogging.

Lots of typos. Sorry, still "schlurry" from last night's meds. I took them way too late so still feeling it. Just makes me write "better" when sober. :P

  6. I wouldn't mind the phones, Maria, as long as I didn't have to talk on anyone. I hate talking on the phone.

Rain for you too, Dina? Not fair!

Hey Janet, I do buy books from Powell's, just not in the actual store most of the time.

  7. Searchlights! Looking for rain! It rained here again today too. But not at work.

Janet, I just thought the Secede to Fail Gov. really really identifies with his gun…

I'll see what I can do about picking them up on the way. Might not get anywhere near the midwest though, depending on whether I have a connecting flight & where it connects at. ;-)

  8. Good luck with the phones, Maria. That was always the part I hated about starting a new job, learning the phone system. Let alone running the switchboard, ack! And these days I avoid the phone like the plague - or at least talking on it.

Anticipation is a great part of any journey, andi!

Never have been to Powell's, but I haven't been to Portland, so I guess that's why. One of these days...

My last day in Idaho tomorrow. Very sad to leave, but looking forward to my journey to FL. Well, all but the hours and hours of driving!

    Night all...
