  1. Spring just kind of sprung backwards with temps dropping into the 40s at night. Brrr Arrgh. ::g::

My Summer of Discovery blog tour has begun with a guest post by John Betancourt. I'll have a guest post each week on Thursdays through August! (Yes, it's totally a ploy for me to not have to write blog posts! Plus bonus!book giveaways)

Galleys done and notes off to editor this a.m. I feel both accomplished and bereft. That was my final task and I'm now officially footloose and contract-free.

    'Tis very odd.

Sent another note to my agent. This time with a more "need to make a decision" approach--the decision being whether or not I look for a new agent. I do understand - with the death of the agency's head (who represented mega-bestselling authors & author estates) - that work load had to go somewhere, effectively dropping me in the ranks from MOR to "who are you again?"

Things happen that can't be predicted. Life goes on.

I think I'll wander down Andi & Jim's forest path a bit...see what turns up.

  2. The wind blew away the rain and we have sun! Windy but I will take it.

Maria, good luck with the agent. I hope that you hear from him today.

    Waves to all.

  3. Hi all! Yeah, we got down to 40 last night. Blackberry winter, we call it.

Maria, good luck with the agent. Personally, I think it's a matter of misplaced priorities — dance with the one who brung ya. You've done good work with this agent in the past, and increased workload is no excuse to him to just forget you exist. Time to get a new agent, methinks. Yeah, I know, easier said than done, but the mere act of looking should give him a much-needed poke.

    Hi Dina!

Had a story accepted into a tiny fantasy lit journal yesterday! It appears on their front page next week, I'll post a URL. Funny thing is, it's half scifi. ;-) Chipped a little hole in the wall, now to see if I can worm the rest of me through it…

  5. Come wander with us any time, Maria. Definitely cool happenings at your website. Not so cool happenings with your agent.

Yay for sun, Dina. We've had sun two whole days in a row. I'm in shock.
