Sunday Snoozing

Sleeping with your Dog
Unknown Author

Now I lay me down to sleep,
The king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove
My human being can hardly move!
I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and "I want food!"
I sneak up slowly to begin
my nibbles on my human's chin.
She wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth-
I'm a puppy, don't you see?
For the morning's here
and it's time to play
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs and holds me tight
And shares her bed with me at night!

  1. Wonderful Pic, Jim.
The family that naps together is a happy family.

I did do some work on my character. Story is still beyond my fingertips. But closer.

Braved one store and bought two shirts for work. My wardrobe is pretty pitiful. Sale price but extra off made for reasonable deal.

Mostly light fare in reading and tv split by an afternoon nap. WooHoo.

Need the rest to face the coming week.

Beth, have another good trek today. Fun to have a group to go with and beauty to see. May lesson the missing of your sea.

    Relaxing Sunday to All.

  2. Oh, I love the pic. And SO want to be snuggling with pups, instead of hiking city streets. Although we were in Scottsdale most of yesterday and all of today, so they're pretty streets. But what a great shot, and poem!

I'm late, so gotta run. But thanks for the good wishes. And the nice image to carry with me today. Someone nap for me, please! And shop - egads, I'm so behind. And watch football...

Anyway, 11 miles today - have a great Sunday, y'all!

  3. Heehee… Andi's a good sport letting you post that pic, Jim!

I thought I had a snatch of poetry, or maybe a song lyric, to add… but I forgot what it was. In about two hours, we'll have the Christmas cantata. I'm maybe JUST enough over this cold to sing.

Enjoy naps, those of you who get them. Mason went down for his about 20 minutes ago. And enjoy the long walks, those of you who get those today!

  4. Blowing snow and sub zero wind chills are giving me a 2 hour delay tomorrow. Doubt that I'll snooze with the pack too much extra.

  5. Holy cow, Jim! Makes you wish you worked from home...I'm wondering how Kelly is doing up there in the frozen north. You guys sure are getting slammed with the weather...be safe!

  6. I don't nap. Instead I bake. It's part Zen and part creation. And it truly grounds me.

Most of my baking is having to be converted due to my dairy/vertigo biz. I haven't fixed my cheesecake perfection yet though. I'm "notorious" for incredible cheesecakes and I feel bad that I haven't baked them this year.

But I'm having too much fun veganizing cookies. Don't let teh word "vegan" scare ya. I'm still an omnivore, I just can't deal with dairy. :) I've found that vegan desserts are richer and more "potent" :)

Also I found this incredible woman named Isa Chandra Moskowitz who is RADICAL!!! Food and politics.

Try these and then take a nap.

    Mexican Hot Chocolate Snickerdoodles :)

Can use regular cow milk instead of almond/hemp milk. BUT you MUST use real maple syrup.

End of my food porn post :) Just been going over my cookbooks and deciding what to bake for christmas as we're all on the same page about just having a feast and several days of baking instead of gift giving. We have all that we need and want this year.

Plus we have a healthy dog and a new cat... as well as several new wardrobes for funerals. It was a long, hard year this year. I just need to get back to the basics. Wayne might get some bonus check on the 23rd... but not counting on it and don't think we should anyways.

So we will eat, drink and be very merry :)
