  1. Looks like the ball in downtown Dallas.

Waves to Nicky on the tail end of yesterday. Enjoy your invasion. Love the famous folks that visit your story only to be kicked to the curb.

Friday is here. I am SO READY for Spring Break. 10 new kiddos today and two boomerangs. Bad choices abound. Will be releasing quite a few to relieve the glut.
Will spend plenty of the next week working on story and relaxing. Going to Cherokee Sunday for a few days of No TV, No Internet, No Big City. WooHoo.

Maria--House Elf--Now that could be a real growth industry. I want one. I'm thinking school troll too. Could think of plenty of mischief there.

Nancy, I get a visceral response when I see the title of your new book. Pleasant, exhilarating--People will be slipping it off the self to see what it's about. Anxious for it to come out.

    Fabulous Friday to All.
Jim, have a great last day before some well earned relaxation.

  2. Nicky, if you're looking for some background reading on Florence Nightingale, I can recommend "Nightingales" by Gillian Gill.

Morning Lisa. Yay for Spring Vacation! May the today zoom to the end and each of the next seven feel like a month going by.

  3. Huge storms here all night - and supposed to continue all day. Thunder, lightning, downpours - yippee! The dog isn't very happy, but I'm thrilled. Calling for 3-4" by the time it's over.

Rain didn't start til the game was over yesterday, but we missed sunset at the Hurricane - no sun to be seen all day. I'll just have to go back on my own.

I'm gonna sit and watch the rain fall today, because it's a very rare occurrence around here. I should live in a rain forest...

Hang in there, Lisa. Peaceful country time in sight.

TGIF, everyone! And don't forget to change your clocks this weekend....

  4. Thanks, Andi; I'm trying to discourage Miss Nightingale but she's haunting! (She lived not far from here and seems bent on offering my heroine a job!) I don't seem able to control my characters in this book, at all!
Looking forward to Nancy's new book too, Lisa.

  5. Morning, peeps. Our insane weather strikes again, 4 days of spectacular rainfall predicted. Woke up to grey and stormy. At least it's not snow!

Miming today to make up for Wednesday's stomach bug day. Then more pack-tastic fun! It's a slow process with just me, but at least I know what I want and don't have to translate it to a friend. (Yes, I am picky!)

Lisa, perhaps your school needs Peeves, the poltergeist! Enjoy your break, you deserve it.

TGIF to all and yea, the darn clocks. Sigh. Who invented this insanity again?

  6. I've discovered that if I check in on my blogging friends FIRST and then go to FaceBook, it works out a lot better timewise, AND I don't ignore ya'll so badly. So...

    Good Morning All!
Got up to 53º today. The s__w is all gone and I've got growy things coming up in my gardens. I'm a happy camper.

Sounds like everyone is busy and really ready for the week end. So am I.

I caught a nasty end-of-winter cold and it's hanging on and being beligerent to boot.

Love your photo, Andi. It's still pretty even if it is time for it to go.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

  7. Waves to all. Hope things get better for you, Lisa.

Nicole, I like the idea of Florence Nightingale haunting! Could be much worse.

I want a house elf. My house really needs one. The cats have turned the job done.

Good luck with packing, Maria. We are having the rain also.

  8. Beth, I hope the rain is spread out of some length of time so it doesn't all just run off. P.S. I hate daylight savings time.

I think she'd make a great character in a mystery, Nicky.

Beth's rain must be spreading north, Maria. We're having rain too which is also coming from the south. (Right on cue, the thunder just started.)

CF, I hope you feel better soon. And I'm very glad you figured out a strategy for visiting more often. :)

  9. TFSMISV!!!

I have to do quarterly grades, make sure all is set for a 3 day - 2 night field trip with hormonally raging 6th graders, see both moms, & meet with someone about finances, but at least it's spring vacation.

  10. Drive by hi! Been gone all evening, helping The Boy bring home a new amp. He has a concert at a rather popular venue tomorrow night… I just hope everything works out.

  11. Thanks Lisa and Nicky. I'm looking forward to it, too. :)

Saw Willie Nelson in concert last night. What a treat.
