  1. AndiF,
I almost took a picture of a perfect X across the whole sky the other day.
    Yours is extraordinary though.

  2. :) This is a great Start-the-day-with-a-smile photo!!

    Good Morning, Andi & Knucklehead!

  3. Oh, and I meant to tell you how much I like the revolving photos in the sidebar. Sometimes I just come and watch them cycle through.

  4. So you two are the late bird and the early bird (at least I hope you're being a late bird, Head).

An X would pretty damn cool too, Head.

Hiya kb. Glad I could give you a smile and also that you enjoy the slideshows (which I need to remember to change more often).

  5. I don't know how often you should change them... I like the ones you've got. But is there a post with larger versions? Is that even possible (Ignore this -- it sounds whiny and bossy)

    xxoo

  6. There's no post of bigger versions because these are all older photos (some of the dating back to 2005). But if you click on the one that's showing, it will take you to the bigger version.

  7. Morning to the Early Birds.
Sinful morning of sleeping in to almost 6. Hubby gone camping and I fended off the cats for a while.
SUNSHINE yesterday and today. Cool front has lowered the humidity and temps. Perfect Fall weather for THE GAME. Texas-OU today. Hook'em.

Had the best afternoon mowing. Love being able to complete a job, be outside and take in some rays.

CF--Here's hoping you dry out enough to get your garlic planted.

Beth, that part of FL sounds like parts of Texas. Roads and country but not much of interest to look at. Orange groves sound good but sod farms--zzzzzzzz. Enjoy your time back home.

Maria-happy spa morning. Hope the home can become sweet home soon.

    Bono--Miss seeing you more.

Farf, Love keeping up with the family. Glad MIL is doing better. Nice to have Mason for a balance to life.

Andi, I often imagine God playing games up there, but Tic-Tac-Toe is a new one. She does have a good sense of humor though.

Waves to all. Sensational Saturday. May all your teams win.

  8. Wow! No VGW today! I feel like I'm arriving late to the party! Nice to see everyone so early in the morning, on a Saturday even.

I saw a happy face in the sky over Miami when I was there - but I believe that one was planned. This looks more like happy coincidence.

Big storms early this morning, and a nice breeze last night as I met friends for outside music. The weekend filled up quickly once they got to planning - lots of festivals going on. And it's supposed to be in the 70's, so we're excited to get outside for a couple of days. Tho I'm missing the TX-OU game, sigh. Root extra loud for me, Lisa!

The drive was peaceful - nice change to see trees and grass, instead of buildings and cars. Once it cools down I need to find parks to nourish that part of my soul.

Busy two days - off and running. Have a good one, y'all!

  9. Morning everyone.

    LOL Andi, great catch!

    Looks like quite the thoroughfare.

  10. Morning to all you early feathered friends. :)

Love the tic-tac-toe in the cloudes/contrails - very cool.

Lisa, thanks for the wishes. The spa half-day will definitely relax me. Sadly, my IKEA chair frame was broken on arrival. :( Their customer svc was brilliant, though and they are sending a replacement.

However, I now can haz mattress on my sofabed and I slept on it last night. Feels a little different, so I had a bit of a restless night, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. It is quite comfy.

Things are shaping up slower than I want, including TDB* - will hunker down after spa and do more writing. I'm at the "I hate it all" stage. This is normal and expected, but still...

    Beth, enjoy your busy day!!

::waves to kb, Andi and KH--and FarF, who I am sure will be along shortly::

    Cheers!

  11. Yup, Maria, here I am! *chuckle* Great capture, Andi. I've seen asterisks here, I think over Buford Dam, but didn't have a camera with me at the time.

Cool — one could say chilly — morning here on Planet Georgia, but we could even get frost tonight (boo hoo, no more fresh tomatoes). There's a little fire going in the insert, cranked down because it's not that cold yet, but enough to heat up the water in the pot. I will get out the Dutch oven and slow-cook some chili or something this winter though.

It's perfect weather for cutting wood, and that's what we'll be doing today. I'll start with the redbud that's been laying in the back yard for a year or so, then move from that to the pasture where a red oak is waiting. There's also a shower at the rental place to fix.

Mason's starting to squawk, I need to go wake up Snippet or something. :-)

  12. Cool pic, Andif. I am on my way home to open the box for my new MacBook Pro. :-) Yes, Farf, I asked if it has version 10.6 and they assured me it does. Also, I purchased the Apple Care Plan, Iworks, and a new printer because there were rebates on the last 2. I think I am set. I still need to get a new ISP that will accomodate Macs. I'm looking forward to being around more.

Frost, Farf??! I thought you lived in the warm sector of our country. How far south will I have to eventually move to get away from -winter-?

I miss you guys, too, Lisa. Good luck with your fball game. I've been so busy, I don't know who the Buckeyes are playing today.

    Have a great day, y'all.

  13. Ohh, I also need your help re: camera choice. While picking out a 'puter, etc., I looked at the G10 which is being replaced by the G11. The G11 is more expensive and has only 10 megapixels vs. the 14 megapixels of the G10. I was told the 14 megapixels distorts images too much. ? I thought the more megapixels the better? Do you have a viewpoint on this? Get the older, cheaper G10 or the new, fewer megapixels G11? Thanks in advance.

  14. Hi Lisa. Did you miss being first? :)

Darn, Beth, that you didn't get a picture of that smiley face -- that would have been very cool.

Hi O. I guess Brown County is more in the thick of things than I thought.

Maria, I hope that "hate it all" stage doesn't last too long. Sound like big time no-fun.

Farf, we've already had frost but looks like we might have our first freeze tonight.

Hooray for the new computer, bono. Especially since it means we'll get to "see" more of you. I have a G9 which I really like. I looked at reviews comparing the G10 and G11 and the consensus is that the 14 megapixel was too much for the sensor and led to more "noise" in the pictures. But you can shoot at a lower size (less megapixels). The G11 has some improvements oever the G10 for low light shots. Lots of people really like the G10, though.

  15. Jim says I'm wrong about shooting at the lower resolution -- the number of pixels the sensor shoots is fixed and if you shoot at a lower res, it makes a software adjustment.

  16. Bono, congrats on the new computer!

Megapixels don't mean much unless you have a really good set of optics in front of it — I'd rather have 4MP with a fantastic lens than 10MP with a crappy lens. A good lens + lots o'megapixels means your pictures will look sharp printed at large (like 11x16 inch) sizes. Then there's sensor quality… sounds like the G11 has a sensor that's better matched to its file size.
